Description:Seeking two Senior TMEs to participate with the world-wide Embedded Software TME team, particularly in the areas of Linux support, Moblin 2 efforts for Embedded customers and Operating System Vendors, and support and enablement of Virtualization technologies on IA32 platforms targeting embedded usage models and market segments. Both positions will require significant amount of engagement and support of external ecosystem vendors, as well as considerable coordination and influence of engineering organizations across Intel.

Generally, responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Customer Technical Support: Liaison between our Product Support Engineers and Product Development Engineers to drive resolution to customer issues. Lead and or participate in customer meetings via phone or face-to-face.

Requirements Management and Software Architectural Definition: Drive customer and ISV requirements into PLC planning cycles. Own preparation, review and management of detailed product requirements. Requires software architectural understanding to be able to interface with ISVs and customers, as well as the software development teams. This may include active participate on software architecture discussions to drive architectural considerations and implementation details.

Product Collateral: Own development of product user documentation, technical specifications, white papers, etc. Also contribute to promotional collateral such as product roadmaps, product briefs, and web site collateral.

Product and Technology Promotion: Prepare and present product and technology training and product demonstrations at global field and industry conferences. Support outbound marketing efforts around product technology. Drive comprehension of how technologies can be utilized to solve customer problems and challenges.

Vendor Liaison: Proactively engaging the supporting ecosystem and enabling software vendors on upcoming ECG platforms. Drive enablement of Linux vendors such as Wind River, MontaVista, Red Hat, Red Flag, and Novel, or Virtualization vendors such as VMWare and Virtual Logix. This will include enablement through provision of platforms, documentation, and code, as well as technical support. This could also include driving software licensing agreements.

Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:

BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
8+ years relevant industry experience
4+ years experience in software development and software architecture
2+ years experience in development or support of hardware drivers, BIOS or other firmware
2+ years experience working with Linux
2+ years experience with support and interaction with external customers and/or vendors
2+ years experience giving technical presentations and training
Requires approximately 20% travel (US and international).

Preferred Qualifications:

Master of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineer, or MBA
2+ years experience working with embedded operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows CE, Wind River VxWorks, or QNX Nuetrino
2+ years as technical lead or manager of small technical team
2+ years experience working with Intel PLC process, or similar product life cycle processes
2+ years writing and editing technical documentation or technical presentation material
