Description:Section Head position in the Mechanical Design Analysis and Documentation (MDAD) Department, Mechanical Subystems Directorate. Manage projects for engineering organization with responsibility for supervising approximately 10 direct reports. Coordinate support resources across multiple programs. Facilitate alignment on team goals, roles, and responsibilities. Foster effective communication between teams and team members. Monitor team dynamics. Conduct section meetings, training sessions, and presentations as needed. Responsible for identification and execution of program requirements. Manage ongoing requests for support as needed. Collaborate with engineering, program personnel and HR on staffing requirements, conducting interviews and hiring appropriate candidates. Assess individuals performance and conduct timely employee performance development discussions and plans for employee’s growth. Plan and implement new processes and procedures.



Required Skills: Minimum 6 years leadership experience managing teams and projects. Proficiency with Drafting standards including ASME Y14.5, DOD-STD-1000, company internal drafting standards (EDS, PDS). Proficiency with desktop applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines. Must have above average organizational and people skills. Knowledge of employee performance development process.



Desired Skills:

· Proficiency with Pro/ENGINEER and Pro/INTRALINK

· Proficiency with Sherpa PDM

· Innovator and demonstrated experience in improving processes and performance

· Experience in conducting performance development discussions

· Outstanding written and oral communication skills.

· Existing Secret Clearance

Education (including Major): Bachelors Degree in related Business field plus 6 years leadership experience required or a combination of experience, education and training equivalent to 16 years of experience.
