| Description: | Job Description: Position in the Mechanical Subsystem Directorate, Mechanical Design Analysis Documentation Department. Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures. Work may be closely supervised. Accomplishes work by following specific, detailed instructions. Candidate will perform a wide variety of tasks in support of the engineering and manufacturing organizations. Uses Computer Assisted Design (CAD) systems to prepare mechanical design layouts, detail and assembly drawings and related documentation in conformance to appropriate program and/or military specifications.
Required Skills: Candidate must have some knowledge on the use and/or application of basic principles, theories and concepts for creation and preparation of engineering design documentation. Candidate must have some knowledge of industry practices and standards used in drafting, modeling and design development/revisions. Candidate should be able to identify model or drawing errors, omissions and other deficiencies and recommend corrective actions. In addition, candidate must have some knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Knowledge ProENGINEER (2000i or Wildfire) or SolidWorks. Oral and written communication skills; ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently.
Desired Skills: Mechanical design experience may include areas such as electrical /mechanical packaging, harnessing, structures, surfacing and mechanisms. Knowledge of ProENGINEER Wildfire and ProPDM/Intralink and Sherpa PDM. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience using documentation specifications such as MIL-DTL-31000, ANSI or ASME Y14.5M, ASME Y14.24 and ASME Y14.100. Knowledge of Raytheon Drafting Standard, Mechanical Engineering Process for documentation preparation. Experience with machine shop tools helpful. Existing secret clearance is desirable.
Required Education: Bachelors degree in technical field or Associates degree in technical field with 6 years experience or High School diploma or equivalent with 12 years experience
