| Location: | Tuscon, AZ | | Employment Type: | Full Time | | Employer: | Raytheon Company | | Description: | Duties will involve directly supporting multiple productions areas and project/technical leadership associated with specific assemblies and/or finished products. This assignment requires daily interaction with multiple disciplines in a production environment (Production Control, Supply Chain Management, Shop Floor supervision, etc.) and is within the Manufacturing and Test Engineering organization.
Assignments will relate to value stream flow analysis and improvement, capacity planning, producibility enhancement, manufacturing process control and performance monitoring, customer and supplier interface, product cost improvement, disposition of discrepant hardware items and leading corrective action preventing reoccurrence, translating engineering design requirements into formal manufacturing process documentation, developing tooling concepts, providing engineering liaison to factory supervision and production teams, creating and overseeing projects using risk management techniques, planning and managing the incorporation of design changes and leading cost reduction and process improvement initiatives. Responsible for product quality, assuring compliance of assigned product/project to the customer's expectations as defined in the contract and as reflected in RMS directive documents, in the most cost effective manner. This position involves direct support of manufacturing activities and requires spending significant amounts of time in and around factory areas. Second shift assignment may be a requirement.
Assignments may be focused on internal manufacturing or may relate specifically to supplier and subcontractor technical support.
The ideal candidate will possess the skills and experience necessary to perform in both technical and manufacturing leadership roles. Technical competence includes product technologies, such as electro-optical, electro-mechanical, circuit cards, metallic and non-metallic structures, as well as production technologies, such as equipment-driven processes, material handling practices, statistical process control, Lean principles, and fabrication methods for assigned component or subassemblies. Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, concepts and techniques is required. Manufacturing leadership relates to an ability to plan, align, and execute a multi-disciplined team, to include suppliers, to achieve a business objective.
The qualified candidate must understand the general workings of a shop floor control management system for controlling hardware pedigrees and recording all build, test and inspection records. Direct experience with performing hardware First Article Inspections, conducting work instruction (assembly planning) audits, and supervising hardware prove-ins is desired. Ability to achieve results directly relates to program delivery schedules, company financial performance, product quality and reliability, and other aspects of meeting contractual requirements.
The qualified candidate must possess demonstrated experience involving technical problem solving, working effectively under general supervision, consistently bringing sound organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively, both interpersonally and via presentations. He/She must respond to requests, and coordinate to investigate, and solve problems of moderate scope and complexity.

Required Education:
This position requires a BS degree from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum in a field such as Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
