Description:Axway Inc. a leading provider of collaborative business solutions is seeking an Jr Application Analyst for its U.S. operations. Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, this position will participate in the company’s internal systems analysis and applications programming group in the review, recommendation, analysis, design, modification, implementation, and support of both large and small scale purchased and custom applications. They will report to the US IT Software manager and work with other IT groups in EMEA.
Duties:Key Responsibilities
Application / System Design, Development & Implementation: (70% of time)
•Participate in the activities of the application programming group.
•Participate in the architecture and development of business system solutions and integration strategies that meet the requirements of Axway’s end users.
•Participate in the roll-out of strategic corporate initiatives and system changes.
•Participate in projects to implement corporate initiatives.
•Analyze, design, modify and implement large and small scale purchased and custom applications.
•Develop, write and maintain custom applications.
•Consult with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify application objectives.
•Write documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections.
•Create end user and application / system documentation.
oCreate application installation and end user application usage guides.
oCreate and maintain general systems documentation.
•Create manuals for users that describe installation and operating procedures.
•Create and deliver end user training on installation and operating procedures.
•Support & Maintenance of Axway’s business applications.
•Install, customize, and integrate operating systems and/or applications as necessary on servers and systems.
•Install, configure and administer web hosting and DBMS software and technologies.
•Install, customize, and integrate new web applications as required.
•Ensure all business critical applications are as secure as possible.
•Enforce and adhere to the Corporate Change Control Policy to ensure service interruption is minimized or eliminated.
•Create and keep current documentation on all applications and systems.

General Operational and Corporate Initiative Implementations: (30% of time)
•Provide assistance to the IT Help Desk and assist other support representatives when required.
•Work with vendors as required garnering their assistance with problem diagnosis and resolution.
•Report status of activities to the IT Director weekly or more often as required.
Qualifications:•Technical skills
oExpert level knowledge of CA Clarity.
oSQL experience and RDBMS familiarity with MS SQL Server or Oracle SQL / Oracle.
oFamiliarity with object-oriented language (Java / C++) and .NET framework
oUnix / Windows.
•Good financial/accounting systems experience on Softrax: a plus.
•Foreign language: French appreciated.
•Excellent communication (oral & written), interpersonal and organizational skills.
•Detail oriented, works accurately and quickly.
•Must be able to adapt and be flexible in a growing and changing environment.
•Must be able to implement projects on time and on budget completion.
•Ability to make modifications to systems with little or no interruption of service.
•Ability to organize projects and tasks according to priorities.
•Ability to work with all levels of staff and management.
•Must be self-motivated and enjoy a sense of pride in accomplishment.

Education:
•Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or related field of study required.
•Masters degree preferred.

Experience:
•2+ years experience in business systems implementation and project management.
•3+ years experience in application development and integration.
•3+ years experience in database design, development and administration.

Required Proficiencies in:
•Business process analysis
•Technical documentation
•Integrating "Out of the Box" business applications (i.e. CRM, Accounting, HR) in complex business processes.
•Concurrent Versioning Systems
•Should have experience in: SQL, HTML, XML, Java, Java Script, .Net, VB, Crystal Reports

Preference will be shown to candidates with the following extra proficiencies:
•Direct project and development experience with any of the following:
oPPM Software (CA Clarity)
oAccounting Software (Softrax)
•DBMS Administration: MS SQL and Oracle
•MCSE, MSCD or other relative certifications.

Travel: Limited, but occasionally may be required to support remote Axway locations.
